Question posted in the Landlord Tenant Law category relating to Gauteng

Our units roof in the bathroom has completely come off and there is irreversible water damage to one of our rooms. Yet they telling us we need to wait up to 5 days for just a roof in the freezing cold never mind the major water damage. We have asked them to let us move as the unit isn't safe to live in with two small kids. Yet they want us to serve notice. What can we do since we can't stay here
