Question posted in the Property Law category relating to Gauteng
My grandmother owns a house in Garsfontein and we are having problems with a woman in her house. She moved in, didn't pay her rent for months, left without a word. This woman's mother moved in and paid well until three months ago. When we went to investigate it turns out she moved out and her daughter, the previous tenant moved in without notice. My grandmother said if she can pay her she can stay, only because she has a daughter in school. She assured us she has a job and can afford it. Turns out now, she doesn't have a job, it's been two months of not paying rent or water. How can we make sure they leave? My grandmother is 83 and cannot support another household with her pension.
