I am in the process of building and have paid the pool guy R170k for a quote of R200k for the pool. However, he has done only 30% of the work and is now demanding I give him an additional R10k. I contacted a lawyer who has sent him several letters but we are not getting a response. The lawyer has now said it will cost me R50k for to take to arbitration or proceed with issue of summons and claim damages. I cannot afford this kind of money. Is there a way I can do this on my own and represent myself in court?
