Question posted in the National Credit Act Law category relating to Gauteng

Good morning,

I need legal advice about a Nedbank loan I took out in 2011. It was for my wedding and my husband passed away 3 years ago. The salary I get now is R7300-00 after deductions and after my rent, food and petrol, I can not afford to pay what Hammond & Pole told me to pay. According to Hammond & Pole, I owe Nedbank R70 000-00 but I am not sure if that is with or without interest. I did request a break down of the account which I still didnt receive. I was contacted by a Mr Marius Steyn from Hammond and Pole and he was realy very rude and shouted at me saying I better see that I pay R1500-00 per account (I have 2 loans at Nedbank) or else they will repossess my furniture. I do not have any furniture except a bed. I stay in a furnished bachelor flat. Could you kindly help me with advice on what my rights are?

Many thanks and kind regards.

Mrs. Hannelie Beukes
