Question posted in the Family Law category relating to Western Cape

I have a complicated multi-part question. My ex-husband remarried and as far as I know, lives in China. He's been paying maintenance for my our son up until Jun this year, although not what he's supposed to according to our divorce order. We got divorced in 2013.

Now he seems to have disappeared completely. He stopped paying, he's unreachable on any contact methods I have, his family doesn't know where he is, and even on social media he has been inactive. Same with his wife.

My question is, I guess, what are my options for

getting maintenance for my sonfinding out what his legal rights towards my son are

He's seen his son once in the past 7 years, he did make efforts to call and video call, nothing consistent though. He's agreed to changing my son's surname to mine (I took back my maiden name) but was never able to send me a certified copy of his ID to execute that process.

I have no idea what to do or what the implications of this are or will be in the future.
