Good Day,

My husband has a small business loading containers as an additional service for people exporting ex South Africa.

At the previous company I worked for the Branch Managers wife had company and all the loading for containers were contracted to her. My husbund obtained some of these contracts and were paid by the lady directly.

The directors of the previous company apparently did not know that she was the wife of the branch manager and are now up in arms because she was awarded these jobs. (This arrangement was set up by the branch manager), but the company that we worked for did not offer such a service. And the rates for this service were reasonalble. In our contracts there are no clause regarding this practice.

Can they do anything to me and my husband because of this. They are now seeing it in a light where they say they lost money, but in actual fact they did not loose any money because it was not a service that they offered and it would have had to be paid by them anyway.

Regards,

Nicolene
