Question posted in the Landlord Tenant Law category relating to Eastern Cape
My partner and I have been staying in a flat for 10-years and have only had one lease given to us in that time. My landlord wants us to give two months notice if we leave the flat. I can't remember two months notice being in the lease, and I cannot find a copy of the lease. Since no new lease has ever been given, and we've essentially been living on a month-to-month basis, does two months notice still apply, or can we give one calendar month's notice? So if we let him know that we are leaving today, 13 September 2024, we should be out by October 1, 2024. Is my logic correct on this?
