I popped into Dischem sandton city & went into buy specific facial items & not the daily, basic items I happened to find the facial essential oils there too which I picked however I had a lot of items in my hands so I walked into the store initially with another bag of which I purchased item I another clothing store, I took out all my items & honestly by mistake I overlooked the oils as in mu mind I was to find it in another store & not in dischem as per checking online prior to going shopping I couldn't find the stock....as I was out I was stopped by security no beeping, nothing I was being watched but based on the items I purchased it was purely an oversight, I told the store security it was a mistake I have never had any trouble with the law before  I was detained, searched, & the store manager along with the security of store watches the footage then calls me a thief, says they will lay a charge & we will go to the malls security office....along the way yhe security guy asked me if I had cash I said no I paid with my bank card, plus I pleaded my case I'm not a thief, the store manager said oh that's why we have shopping baskets/trolley so customers don't HD items....I wasnt stealing. The store manager to me not to use my phone at all while bringing in their back security room.

We go the malls security offices, searched again, told to take off earnings, all items on me & all my things like handbag, car keys, phone was taken & my shopping was held by the security company while waiting on the police to come. Was called a thief, told to sign a documents banning me for life, been called caged animal by the security company guards, also was told that why all women steal & the guard called me baby/lala saying if I wasn't locked up he would take me to his place as I'm so beautiful they took a picture of me to post to prevent me from entering for life after the store banned me for 1year. The police said it was absolutely ridiculous & the store staff get an incentive for finding shoplifters also I complied 100% & kept quiet through it all. The security company locked me in a holding cell & I had to ask to go to the toilet, beg for my phone to call for someone. Plus my car was still in the mall parking until the cop had to escort me to fetch it otherwise it would be clamped/towed away. And the store manager didn't allow me to speak/or tell her it was an oversight I wasn't stealing. What should I do? The items was facial essential oils valued ar about R300 or so....I purchased for over R700 plus I'm a regular customer I swiped my loyalty card & used my points even. I have never has any charges against me
