I have received a notification via ordinary mail that a summons will be issued against me for a traffic offence. i need completed the aarto 8 form and hand delivered same to the office in roodepoort. i then received a hand written letter via ordinaty mail from jmpb saying that i need to collect the said summons at their offices, attached to this letter they have send all my documents (aarto 8 form, affidavit) back. Do i need to collect the summons? or should they rather serve it on me personally? i did not receive any prior notification about the fine of summons or given an oppertunity to pay same as i was not aware of it. The photo taken of the offence, shows 3 vehicles, mine is the only one where you can see the registration number as my car was the closest to the camera, how can they proof that it was my car speeding and not the other vehicle that was almost next to me?. the car next to me was very close to mine and can i then implicate that, that car was then also speeding? how can they proof this? the area where the said offence occured, is a road that i travel every day and i am aware that there is traffic officers there on a daily basis, and why will i then travel at 100kmph in a 60 kmph zone? i am not a person like likes speeding and always travells on the left lane. i indicated all this information on my aarto 8 form as well as an affidavit but same(original form that i completed) was returned, did they then merely just ignored it? what do you suggest i do? collect the summons?
