A FRIEND OF MINE HAS BEEN EMPLOYED AS A TEMPORARY WORKER BY A LABOR BROKER CONTRACTED BY ESKOM, HE'S BEEN WORKING AS AN TEMP FOR ESKOM FOR ALMOST 10YEARS NOW. AS THE YEARS HAS PASSED THE CONTRACTED LABOR BROKERS CHANGED BUT MY FRIEND JUST ALWAYS RENEWED CONTRACT WITH WHICH EVER LABOR BROKER WAS AWARDED THE CONTRACT BY ESKOM. LAST FRIDAY MY FRIEND WAS CALLED IN AND RECEIVED A LETTER STATING THAT HIS CONTRACT WAS ENDED DUE TO HIM HAVING A CRIMINAL RECORD. MY QUESTION NOW IS WHETHER OR NOT THAT WAS A VALID LEGAL ACTION PERFORMED, SEEING THAT HE'S BEEN WITH THE COMPANY SO LONG, IF IT IS THE COMPANY'S POLICY NOT TO HIRE PEOPLE WITH CRIMINAL RECORDS WHY ONLY NOW AFTER ALMOST 10 YEARS OF HIM BEEING IN THEIR EMPLOYMENT?
