I bought a car (Dodge)at a dealer for R190K. I traded in my bakkie for R95K. A day after delivery the car started giving me troubles making funny loud noises and I took it back to the dealer who told me to take it to Mercedes since it was under factory warranty. Mercedes fixed hand break and told me it's fine. After few days the car continued making noises and I took it to Auto bid where it was discovered that it was involved in an accident at the repair cost of R42K. Took the car back to the dealer but now the dealer doesn't want to give me back my old car and he insist I take another car but my deposit won't R95K instead it will be R80K as he need to settle the Dodge car that I bought first time. I don't understand why must I pay R15K for a car that I wasn't even told it was involved in an accident because I was told when I asked I wasn't going to sign the deal. I have complained with the Motor industry ombudsman of South Africa but haven't got a response . It's 15 days now and month end Absa will debit my account for the first installment of the car.
