Question posted in the Landlord Tenant Law category relating to Eastern Cape

I had no water for two days. Spend lots of airtime phoning the municipality trying to find out why. It turns out that the Agent/Landlord knew about a plumbing issue in the granny flat on the property. The granny flat tenant switched off the water supply to prevent flooding and didn't think to let me know. Was the Agent/Landlord not obligated to let me know about the other tenant's plumbing problem which could have saved a lot of time and effort. What is the lead time for an agent/landlord to sort out a plumbing problem and what are my rights as the main house tenant?

Regards

Christa
