Good day
I'm interested in buying a property that I saw listed on an estate agent's website. However, the agent informed that the seller requests proof of affordability (bank guarantee statement/cheque or bank statement) before the property can be viewed.
I wanted to know whether this practice is legal because it means the agent will have sensitive information about me before I make a decision on the house. Also, if this information is share with the seller, then my personal information will be exposed to a third party.
I'm not comfortable with this requirment, is it legal for them to impose it?
