Good day,
I trust that you are good.
I would like to know if you can guide me to someone who can help me with the following.
I was shopping in Woolworths when i noticed a pair of earings of R69. I had pants and shoes in my hand and decided to fit the earings. I took it off the plastic thing but then realised that i cant cause of hieginic reasons. i kept it in my hand and went to the fitting room to fit on the clothes. somewhere in the fitting room the earing gone forgotten and some pieces in my bag.
I then paid cash for my other clothes. More than 1200. At the door they stopped me and asked to check my bags. I was then taken to the back, very confidently knowing i didnt do anything wrong. I got there and they then find the earing and said that i have stolen it. I tried to explain and said that between the fitting and buying of the things got got lost, even forgotten about it. I told them i just paid over 1200 of things and woud not jeopardise my image with a pair of earings of 69. I offered to buy all the earings on display to proof to them that i have no intention of stealing the earings. I was not offer an opportunity to do that and police was called.
I told them about my job and that i cant have a criminal record, and that i wouldnt risk that for 69. They refused.
They were hammering on their opinion of me stealing the earings of 69, one security gaurd took pics and the other one laughing at me. I felt embaressed and insulted.
Can someone please help me and guide me on how to get this sorted out please. I have now a criminal record because of this and in risk of loosing my job.
I was googling and saw a similar case with your email address. Hopefully you can help or direct me to a lawyer who can help.
Im from Pretoria.
Kind regards and thanks
FJ
