Question posted in the Landlord Tenant Law category relating to Mpumalanga

I was retrenched and am struggling to find employment. As such I have not been able to pay my rent and am now behind. I have however paid the landlady my portion of the municipal account. I informed the landlady of the situation on the 7th. I asked her if she would use my deposit until I could catch up the rent or alternatively accept a diamond ring as payment as the ring is worth far in excess of the rent. She refused both options. On the 8th she sent me an email stating that I had to pay the outstanding within 10days or vacate the premises. What can I do? Please advise
