I am paying monthly for my telkom telephone service aswell as for my Internet serive provider. Our DSL line has been down since this 14th of February. We were told it was a billing related issue, we then payed and waited for the line to pick itself back up... it did not. Then we were told there was a fault on the line and we had to log a fault, we then did that. After calling numerous times (on Friday the 17th) to find progress on our reported fault, we were told it was at a testing centre and would be passed onto a technician once it has been tested. I was also assured that it would be escalated and it would be tended to within 72 hours of the fault being logged. Then after which we have been told it is was taken out of the testing center on sunday ( the 19th of February ). I called again to find out what the problem with the line was, and when it will be fixed. I was then told that my router the problem, and that we should take it in right away to get it replaced as we are still under Telkoms contract. Upon doing so, without the telkom store staff even testing it, we were immediately told our router was "Dead" and that we needed to buy a new one. Instead of buying a new one, we tested it at someone elses house and found out that the router was still working perfectly. I called in again to tell about this experience, and was then told that there is maintenance happening in the area, however, it is only our line that is not working, so this cannot be the case. I was then later told that we would be assigned a technician on the 4th of march. 3 Weeks after the fault had been logged. Mind you, we are busy paying for the telkom line, as well as our internet service, all of which we are not getting. We are being told different lies and telkom consultants are failing to accept responsibility over the problem and are clearly not putting in the right amount of effort to resolve our problem.
