Question posted in the Criminal Law category relating to Gauteng
Hi, my daughter of 16 lives with me. I have control and gardianship. She does not see her father often, as he has an abusive and controlling nature. Currently she needs a passport. When I approached him to come sign for her passport, he send me a letter with alot of demands for me and her, some also including changes to our final divorce settlement, in exchange for signing her passport. He said if I do not sign the document, he will refuse to sign and she will not be able to go on her school tour. Surely this illegle! Blackmail or distortion under the South African law? He is now now trying to force me into a situation, otherwise my child can not go overseas.
Kind regards
