In 2016 I was hospitalised in a Public hospital for a broken ankle, since I had been previously admitted to a psychiatric institution, a psychiatrist diagnosed me with Schizophrenia without conducting an interview - and had me admitted to the psychiatric ward 2 days after my operation where I received no medical treatment. I insisted that I my rights were being violated but they simply ingored me, actually the psychiatrist who diagnosed me laughed at me when I threatened legal action.

I have obtained a copy of my medical file, and found that they did not follow procedures of the mental health act, they did not interview me, and in fact certain doctors fabricated interviews and facts to have me admitted (one of them could not even spell schizophrenia correctly). They did not make required applications to the mental health board etc. I was deemed not to be a danger to myself, other people, or property. My surgeon asked for me to be interviewed by psychologists twice, but was denied. He doubted their diagnosis - also on my medical records. He wanted me discharged but was denied by the psychiatric ward. I was released after 5 or 6 days in a prison-like ward - since they were satisfied that I was no longer psychotic.

Can I charge the doctors in question with abduction?

Can I sue them for damages?

What other action can I take against them?
