I booked for accommodation in Kenya through Afristay as an agent.I paid the whole amount in full through Afristay. On arrival in Kenya for check in,i was told they could not find my booking on the system. After numerous calls and waiting for Afristay response regarding the issuea, the lady who dealt with my booking at Afristay sent the hotel (kenya) an email to say they system was at fault and it did not send through the confirmation. As a result they should let us check in as its not our fault and they have our money. So the hotel let us check in on the assumption that they will sort it out (hotel and agent).During the course of my stay nobody said anything to me,so my assumption was that the matter was resolved. The night before check out i receive a statement lettet for which i thought maybe it was mistake. On check out thats when i learnt that Afristay had not make any payment to the hotel. Therefore i could not be checked out until payment. From 10:30 am in the morning until 13:30pm i was calling back Afristay, they were telling me they are sorting the payment.Until i relaised that the payment was not going to happen and i was going to miss my flight. At that time im travelling with kids and an elder.I then paid the hotel directly (which was at a rate higher than the amount i paid through Afristay) and i was able to check out.To this day ive had less communication from them, they are ducking and diving. On top of that they still have my money.Im just at ends wit as i cant get what is due to me.All there do is make false promises and nothing gets done.
