Question posted in the Divorce Law category relating to Western Cape
Good morning, I am currently divorced however the division of our assets have not been wrapped up yet. We have an independant Assessor who is not part of our court order handling our matter. This has been dragging on for more that a year now as he is relying on my ex and I to suppy him with our assets and liabilities, that being said and obviously my ex is not being honest about things so at the moment my ex is saying that he has made a personal loan rom his sister in the amount of 1.3 million which he used to purchase property. We were married in community of property and i am now being asked to repay half of that 1.3million. Am i still liable to pay that even if i was not aware of the loan and also if such a loan was aquired should i not have co-signed for that substantial amount?
