I signed a 2 year residential lease in March 2020. Due to unforseen circumstances I had to cancel my lease early.
I have given 3 months notice and my landlords are getting nasty and stating that I am liable for the whole lease term. I have heard that because of the consumer protection act, we actually only have to give 20 business days notice and not liable for the full lease.
