Question posted in the Landlord Tenant Law category relating to Gauteng

Good day

I trust you are well.

Due to financial constraints I was unable to pay my rent this month. I did engage the landlord but he just wants his rent and will not opt to use my deposit or settle some agreements with me, he just wants full payment. What are my options and rights legally?

Hi there,

I see that you haven't made a payment for the question, but I'm going to assist you a little. If you want to ask a follow-up question, please make the required payment.

You have the right to terminate your lease by giving 20 business days' notice.

Unfortunately, that's about it, because you really do have an obligation in terms of the lease to pay your rent in full and on time.

What were you thinking of doing?

Att. Patrick

Please remember this is a dialog if you have follow-up questions please make the required payment, then use the REPLY button and ask your further question. I would like to continue assisting you, but I need to concentrate on people who make payments for their questions.
