greetings Sir/madam

My old man has been assaulted but the perpetrator has gone and opened a case as if he was the one assaulted.there are eyewitnessess willing to give evidence against the perpetrator.we wish to sue the perpetrator as soon as the magistrate has given judgement.how much can one sue for assault?
