Question posted in the General Law category relating to Eastern Cape
Good Day.
I am a woman of 57 years and have been married for 33 years. We married out of the community of property. I am considering a divorce but are unsure of what my legal rights are and what I will walk alway with from this marriage. I have had my own business for 23 years which did suffer losses over the past three years (covid) and my husband has his own business which he started over the last three years. I have been running the household for a period of 8 years financially when my husband had no income or work. This is a huge step to consider and a decision to take so I want to make sure what are my rights. The property (our house) is in his name and have been paid off. I know the law has changed since the years I got married. What will I be entitiled on when I due file for a divorce.
