Question posted in the General Law category relating to Gauteng
Good day
I had a situation, where a person drove into the side of my trailer while I was changing lanes, with my indicator on. There was no damage to my trailer. There is some damage to the front right panel of his car, as once he hit the trailer, he reversed, which caused more damage.
We swapped phone numbers and we each took pictures. We never swapped ID numbers, email addresses of home addresses, and he was first to drive off.I did not report the accident at a police station, and I do not know if he did.
Obviously, my question is who is liable?
What is my responsibility going forward and what is his responsibility going forward?
