Question posted in the Landlord Tenant Law category relating to Western Cape
I am a tenant in a bachelor flat in seapoint. My lease says a maximum number of two people are allowed in my apartment. Recently was rent was increased by almost 50% because I now live with someone else on a temporary basis. I`m also being told that I cannot live with that person even though my lease says it allows a maximum of two people.
I have gone to the rental tribunal about my rent however I would like to know what my legal standing is when it comes to living with the other person as when I started living there I lived alone.
