Good morning. I was employed within the public sector and resigned with immediate effect on 22 May 2024 however I have not yet received my salary for the days worked in May. I have been in contact with the HR department which indicated that my termination has been processed but they are still awaiting signed documents from my line department, documents which I have submitted on the 22nd of May, before they are able to release my salary. It is the 14th of June today and still no payment has been made. Kindly advise if this is legal as it is my understanding that you should be paid within 7 days once your termination has been processed.
