Question posted in the General Law category relating to Eastern Cape

Good day,

I have recently started a commission based job and I was able to pay my rent in full each consecutive month of staying in the property, recently the real estate market was not doing well and I fell 1 month behind on rental so I stayed for that month as the landlord said it's fine

I then told them I really don't want to loose the place However I have no choice but to move, this happened in October have not been back since November however my furniture is still there Rental per month is R2,500 however there is no working geyser or water pressure since moving in and I raised my concerns every week and they kept saying they will fix it, but they have not, I have moved in with family since I can not afford the rental I have not been back since,

They called and messaged my Principal at the company I work at demanding to know if I still work there and how much money I make I told then to stop contacting my boss unless they want me to loose my job,

I have only made enough money to pay for food and very basic toiletries, my furniture is still at their property

They want me to pay For 4 Months that I have not even been there, there is no lease in place or deposit that was paid

What can I do? I can try to pay 250pm but they won't allow it.
