Question posted in the Landlord Tenant Law category relating to Free State
Good dayGood day Sir/Madam hope you good. I’m currently having a problem here with my landlord. I was supposed to move out today due to some issues. There problem I’m facing is that the landlord does not want me to move out I don’t know why? I was supposed to pay R9 800 for the months I stayed here , the landlord said he wants R25 000 I don’t know what that amount is for in order for me to move out. The lease agreement highlights that “If the tenants wishes to move out before the end of the contract term, the tenant should bring a replacement tenant. Failure to do so, the tenant will pay the rent until the contract term end”. I haven’t signed the lease agreement yet and I haven’t submitted it. The thing is that I must pay R9 800 not the R25 000 since I did not signed the contract. So I the tenant would like to get assisted with me moving out of this place and move in to the residence I applied at.
