Good Morning
My name is Brad. I am in need of some legal advice.My father got married in 2010. I have a family that consist of my father, sister, 2 stepsisters and a Stepmother.
The one stepsister of about 16 or 17 years of age is a real problem. She has no respect at all. She doesn’t get reprimanded properly. When my dad reprimands her she rebels because he isn’t her biological father and her mother is very soft on her. She swears at our parents, she smokes weed and cigarettes; she drinks alcohol and says that she has a boyfriend. she is extremely disruptive and just really rude. She makes trouble almost on a daily basis. She is literally tearing the family apart. My father even considered divorce. This stepsisters father lives somewhere out of town. It was suggested that she get sent to him because she is too much of a problem here.
Last night i received a call from my father. He said i should come to him immediately. When i got to the house the mother in law and brother in law was standing with my father in the kitchen. They told me there is a problem. The problem is that my stepsister is accusing my father of sexual harassment. Out of anger i attacked her. We were pulled apart before a real fight broke out. It was said that my stepsister will be making a case against my dad. My dad warned me that she might make a case of assault against me.
There is probably nothing i can do cover myself, because i know i made the first move. However, my father didn’t do this and he is willing to do anything to prove his innocence. Besides defamation of character, what other case can he make against her? Bearing in mind that she is under the age of 18. Can he make a case for being falsely accused? My stepsister is now living with an uncle. I really cannot let let him go to jail or have that record on against his name when he is innocent.
Please advise what steps i can and should take.
