good day

my name is Natalie, I need to find out how to go about obtaining legal guardianship over a minor child. me and my husband has been looking after my brothers child since she was a baby due to him and the mother not working. the mother has two other children besides my niece and is still not working and my brother just started a job now recently but has agreed for us to apply for legal guardianship over the child. can you please give me advise as to how to go about with this or where to start.
