Question posted in the General Law category relating to KwaZulu-Natal

Good morning, I would like your advise on the following: was married in church 2005, marriage officer never registered marriage. We parted ways +- three years ago. I received a phone call from the said ex today, saying we are married. This was registered by marriage officer without my knowledge and 10 years later. Marriage officer was found out to have not registered 38 couples - this is now been done. I have a son that is not legally my ex's but has his surname. We had dna tests done. He does not contribute financially. Would like to know how I need to address this now as divorce was not originally needed and as per home affairs I was single now married - which I checked. We are both in new relationships and were intending to marry our respective partners.
I have contacted the church and waiting to see if they can give me the marriage officers details . Please help.
Kind Regards
