Question posted in the Property Law category relating to Gauteng
Good day, my mother had Alzheimer's her levy fell behind and the sectional trust wanted to get a court order to sell the flat. I then saw a lawyer who helped me arrange to pay it off monthly. Thry did not want me to stand in on her behalf as i eas not her executor, thats the readon i went to see the lawyers. My mother passed away in December 2015. When I took all her things to the lawyers for the testament, estate they asked a list of outstanding debt. This was one of the accounts I handed to them. My question know is can the sectional trust force me to pay the outstanding amount monthly until the estate is done because I made the arrangements even though it is on her name? They are now charging me late payments, letters and SMS costs on the levy account.
