Question posted in the Family Law category relating to Gauteng

Good day,

I recently relocated to join my husband in Germany. We were both born in SA and married there 30 years ago. Now he wishes to disregard our marriage by being unrestricted and I learned this after selling up everything we own and giving him 90% of the money. What are my rights in terms of the law and can he be held accountable for ruining my life on a financial and emotional level?

I am in a foreign country and have to integrate and rely on him to survive now. He has not worked in a year and clearly running out of money but cashing in his policies. Unlike him, I cannot claim help from the German authorities.

Your assistance in this regard will hopefully shed some light for me.
