Question posted in the Family Law category relating to Free State
My friend was arrested for domestic violence and breach of protection order. His girlfriend had been spiking his drinks for a long time and has assaulted him and emotionally and verbally abused him in front of his friends. She wanted to scare him but disnt think it wouls be so serious. He has been on jail for 16 days withou bail. Case is again on 19/9/2017. Ahe went to court this morning ro have it withdrawn. The prosecuter frumpled up her statement and told her she can not withdraw. He must face his punishment. If he pleads guilty they might let him of with a warning. But whos to say the magistrate wont send him to jail?
