Question posted in the Landlord Tenant Law category relating to Gauteng

Please could you give advice.
We are leasing an office the original lease was for 6 months from January - June 2014. In June requested in writing and extension of lease for July, August and September, the lease agreement requires 2 months notice. Does the written request for a three months extension confirming end of lease period being end of September 2014 constitute a notice period or not.
