Question posted in the Property Law category relating to Gauteng

Good morning
I am currently transferring a property in South Africa from my name into the name of my ex-husband (we divorced in 2004). Apparently in order to get the clearance certificate, there is a sum of money payable (transfer tax?). Who is responsible for this payment, is it the person transferring or the person receiving the property?
