Question posted in the Family Law category relating to Gauteng
We have recently relocated to Johannesburg from KZN which has been a hugh task on its own. We are renting a small place for the time been, but all is clean and in order. My wife is employed as a waiteress while she completes her studys and I am employed as a manager of a restaurant where my mother in law is employed as one of the senior officials. Basically I have been unhappy with matters at work and to make matters worse my mother in law is threating me that if I walk out of my current job she will have the right to take our child from us!!. We are good parents and do not abuse or mistreat our child. She attends school and all the activities that a child should within our current budjet. I would like to know what are our rights as parent and what rights do family members have???. Is my mother in law correct, or will she be out of line. Please help us with some advise.
