Hi there,
My husband received a demotion at work last week. His salary has so far not been effected by this. In all of his quarterly reviews and feedback from his manager everything was positive and no negative feedback was received. No prior action was taken against him. A new manager started, basically called him into a meeting and told him that he's being demoted. When my husband asked why the manaher said that he had made a decision and that was it. Still not informing my husband about why he was being demoted.
My husband takes a lot of pride in his work. In his industry, a lot of grey areas exist which my husband never delves into as he likes to stay on the straight and narrow. He has been told that this manager is going to give him a warning with regards to a stock take which has now been done without my husband there. My husband swears that he hasn't done anything wrong but does say that maybe the departments reported incorrect figures previously if there are suddenly differences.
We feel that this manager is trying to make it difficult for my husband to work there and trying to get him to resign. Should my husband decide to resign, do you feel that this could be the base for a constructive dismissal case?
