Question posted in the Landlord Tenant Law category relating to Western Cape

Good day. Thank you for taking the time to read my email

We have signed an agreement with our landlord to pay back an arrears electicity amount of R10000.00

As per the agreement, we have to pay R1500.00 per month until paid in full. Our rent is up to date. The landlord insits that the R1500.00 payment must be made on the 1st every month, but the agreement only stipulates that the amount of R1500.00 must be paid monthly and no specific dates as to when the funds must reflect in their account.

I have requested if the payment can be made before the 15th every month, but they insist on the 1st and threaten to vacate us if not paid on the 1st every month

Please give me some advice

Kind regards

Riaan
