Good Day please can you advise on the following. My husbands business was given a job whereby we quoted originally and the contractor requested a price reduction. we then amended the quote and sent it. Still refused to sign our quote. He then requested we amend the quote with no specific sizes quantities etc. Wanted us to let it read "Manufacture panels as indicated by client" we did this but he still never signed the quote. We requested a 50% deposit for labour and Paint only.

Received payment Friday evening with a completely different reference and still no signed quote. Commenced with work an when we saw we were being done in and he was changing job specs all the time our team left the job after putting in over 38 hours and not receiving a signed quote. he requested the team to work through the night to meet his deadline of Sunday. When we on numerous occasions told him this would not be completed. We incurred costs of the paint and handed him all his paint. Had to pay staff for after hours and normal hours plus deduct our running costs. he is now demanding of the R 30 000 a R 25 000 refund. When in actual fact our labour / besides business cost was R 8750 plus paint alone was close to R 5000

We have taken no steps. Only invoiced the contractor and confirmed there is no refund of the deposit even though we withdrew from the job as 72 hours passed and we received no signed quote and he was making the team work after hours and requested further panels and labour at no additional cost
