I came to South Africa on a 90-day visa with my British Passport. I arrived on July the 31st and was set to leave Oct the 30th. I came here to Volunteer to work with underprivileged kids teaching English and coach sports. On Oct 23rd I was arrested and taken to jail for a crime I did not commit. I spent 23 hours in Jail and was then taken to the judge the following morning. I was bailed but my passport was taken and was told I am not allowed to leave the country. My lawyer and even the Police officer that arrested me tried to convince the Head DA to allow me to leave and return to the UK as I have no money, nowhere to live and have been followed and physically threatened. The DA refuses to allow me to leave. I had a job waiting for me back home which I have now lost since I was unable to return home. My Lawyer has attempted 3 times to change that verdict but it's not working.
