Hello, my question is in regards to the legal right if a parent after a child has reached the age of 20. A friend of mine wishes to leave the country but her family has a habit of being controlling and her fear is that they will physically stop her from attempting to leave. Shes currently 20 turning 21 in march and wants to leave by around that time, i am asking on her behalf as i have tild her that if i i able to help her get out of her household I will. Would physically detaining someone who is iver the age of 18 be legal if the person who is detaining you is your parent?
