Question posted in the Landlord Tenant Law category relating to Eastern Cape
we have been renting this house for almost 4 years now, we have been paying our rent in time, until last year August my husband got retrenched and skipped a months rent,he got a job in January and we made an arrangement with our agent that we pay in instalments and by May we would cleared our debt, Only to be summoned in April that we have have to pay an amount that was way over what we were intending to pay and moreover we knew we were left with a month to clear our debt,When we approached the agents they told us that the agent we were dealing with before is no longer working for them,and they started telling us accounts we didnt really understand,we reached a agreement that we finish the amount they had mentioned end of August but now before the end of August,they taken us back to their lawyers,and we have decided enough is enough,we gave notice to leave coz we can't afford it any more,but we can't find a place to stay coz every potential landlord who phones them are told we owe them money and yet they still have our deposit,what should we do,we have already notice to leave and haven't a place to live,i have 3 children and they are telling us should by end of the month
