I am permanently employed at a preschool in Pretoria. Yesterday the staff was informed that the school will close from 18 March to 14 April. This is because of the Presidents speech on Sunday that all schools must close because of the Corona virus. But today we've received another letter from management to say that we have to come to work on the 23/26 and 31 March. We are now threaten by our contracts that we are obliged to come and work on these specific days.

My question: does the President and what he implement in such as situation as this national disaster- does what he says not over rule any employee contract?
