Question posted in the National Credit Act Law category relating to Eastern Cape
Good morning
For how many years can you be held responsible for outstanding schoolfees? I am still paying off on schoolfees of which some are older than 10 years already.

Hi there,
I see that you haven't made a payment for the question, but I'm going to assist you a little. If you want to ask a follow-up question, please make the required payment.
If you have not been making any payments, then 3 years.
If you have been making payments, then each time you make a payment you re-set the 3 year timer. So you'd have to stop making payments for 3 years, and then you would be released.
However the school could simply issue a summons and then the 3 year timer would be paused.
