Question posted in the Criminal Law category relating to Western Cape
Good morning,
Between 2006-2008, I don't recall which year I was involved in an accident. I was driving home over Ou Kaapse weg at around 8pm. There was a person in the road which I hit and he was killed instantly. I was arrested and granted bail. A some point later, I don't recall when I went back to court at which time the case was struck from the roll.
In 2010 I left South Africa and I have not been back since.
I would like to return next year for a holiday but I would like to know if there is any chance this case would have been reinstated after all this time?
Is there anyway to check this

Message from the Attorney
Hi there,
I see that you haven't made a payment for the question, but I'm going to assist you a little. If you want to ask a follow-up question, please make the required payment, even if it is R150 or R200.
Unfortunately, the only way to check is for you to apply, in person, at a SAPS station, for a police clearance certificate to see if there is anything outstanding on your name.
