Question posted in the Family Law category relating to KwaZulu-Natal
Good day
I was in a relationship with my child's father for two years .He is on drugs and was stealing everything from our house. He and my brother got into an argument and he was kicked out. We have a daughter together and I want him to have nothing to do with her. However I know that it is not going to be easy to get him to leave us alone or for the court to agree to me not wanting to see him ,or him her. We were not married,my child has my surname,I am supporting her financially by myself. He has not contributed towards her maintenance at all.I am doing everything by myself. He wants to see her and wants to be In her life but I don't want him anywhere near her because of his drug addiction and the fact that he's going to ruin her life. Please help me ,how can I go about this?

Hi there,
I see that you haven't made a payment for the question, but I'm going to assist you a little. If you want to ask a follow-up question, please make the required payment.
You can get a protection order against him if he is a threat to you or your child.
Otherwise, you can apply for a maintenance order against him to force him to assist in supporting your child.
