Question posted in the General Law category relating to Gauteng

Good day

I'm a foreign national planning on settling in South Africa. I would like to ask a couple of questions regarding the South African law on some general issues.

1. What is South African's stance in the matter of human rights, ie. freedom of speech, freedom of religion, censorship on internet browsing, media censorship,...
2. In case of a Foreigner wanting to start a company in the field of ICT (Information and Communications Technology), what are the main requirements, both immigration-related and financial?
3. Can a foreigner ever be exceptionally granted citizenship on the basis of intellectual or social merit? Is there such prerogatives in the President or the Parliament of the Republic?
4. Considering various precedents of xenophobic attacks, has there been established appropriate juridictions and instances for the protection of foreigners living on South African soil?
5. How can one approach the situation of identity theft or passport loss in South Africa? What are the mechanisms of legalisation in case of such mishap?

I look forward to your reply on these bits.
Thanks
