Question posted in the General Law category relating to Gauteng

Good afternoon,

My daughter (12 years) was admitted for surgery.

According to the hospital, the patient is responsible for the bill, so my daughter's details had to be filled in on the hospital forms.

How can or may the hospital hold her responsible for the bill?

Hi there,

I see that you haven't made a payment for the question, but I'm going to assist you a little. If you want to ask a follow-up question, please make the required payment.

They can hold her liable for the account, but I don't know what they think they will do when they realise that she is a child?! They should have asked you to sign the admissions form as her parent and the responsible person for the account.
